In this position you will be responsible for purchasing products that meet company standards from local retail stores. Most of your position will be developing relationships with store managers and convincing them to maximize purchases. Building these relationships will allow you to get access to exclusive deals from the store, negotiate bulk orders and alongside many other things that will benefit the company. You will spend most of your time at local retail stores and transporting products. You will deal with a team that overlooks all your purchases, they will ensure that we are buying products that meet company standards and that you have accurate data entry. They will help you with everything with your shopping experience to make sure that it is smooth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively visit retail stores daily, analyzing ongoing sales, clearance events, and in-store promotions to identify high-potential products for purchasing.

  • Stay ahead of the market by staying informed on upcoming sales and promotions in retail stores, using this information to secure the best deals before competitors.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with store managers and employees to gain insider access to upcoming sales, negotiate bulk purchasing terms, and secure exclusive offers.

  • Negotiate favorable terms and bulk discounts on products, ensuring that every purchase aligns with company profitability targets.

  • Use ScanPower and other tools to analyze potential deals across platforms like Amazon, ensuring that every deal meets ROI and sales velocity standards.

  • Coordinate product transportation efficiently from stores to warehouses to ensure a smooth supply chain and minimize delays.

  • Manage and track expenses associated with purchases, shipping, and storage to maintain budget control and maximize profits.

  • Monitor product sales performance and velocity using data analysis tools to ensure your inventory moves quickly and profitably.

  • Report daily on buying activities, including details of secured deals, cost savings, and profit margins to ensure clear communication with your team.

  • Stay informed on all legal and tax regulations related to retail purchasing, ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Actively manage risks, such as counterfeit goods, potential returns, and fluctuations in market demand, by carefully evaluating every deal.

  • Explore new sourcing channels and opportunities, continuously expanding your reach to find the best products.

  • Adapt buying strategies based on seasonal trends and consumer behavior, ensuring you are consistently purchasing the most in-demand products.

  • Ensure inventory levels support at least 3 months of sales, keeping ahead of demand to avoid shortages.

  • Evaluate store performance during your visits to identify which stores consistently offer profitable products and which should be deprioritized.

  • Maintain continuous communication with store managers, even between visits, using phone or email to negotiate bulk purchases or secure special discounts.

  • Actively track all receipts and purchase records to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with budgetary standards.

  • Work with other team members to plan on how to clear out all profitable inventory in a store

  • Understand how to be a team player and communicate effectively with any person that is inspecting your purchases

  • Communicate with other shoppers from other states to ensure that all sales are covered to max extent possible

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Previous sales experience, ideally in retail or product sourcing, with a proven ability to negotiate and close deals.

  • Ability to drive a Promaster or cargo van; must possess a valid driver’s license and have experience handling large vehicles for product transportation.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, particularly in building and maintaining relationships with store managers to secure the best deals.

  • Basic analytical skills, with the ability to read and interpret sales charts, calculate profit margins, and identify profitable deals.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team, ensuring effective coordination with the overseas support team and other colleagues.

  • Expertise in retail environments and product sourcing allows the candidate to spot profitable products during sales, clearance events, or in-store promotions. This experience ensures that the shopper can assess market opportunities and make strategic purchasing decisions that align with company goals. .

  • E-Commerce Proficiency (Amazon and other platforms)

  • The ability to use e-commerce tools like ScanPower and Amazon seller platforms is essential for evaluating product profitability, sales velocity, and ROI. This skill helps the candidate make data-driven decisions that optimize purchasing strategies and maximize revenue potential.

  • Logistics and Inventory Management

  • Managing the transportation of products from stores to warehouses and ensuring proper inventory levels is critical to maintaining a smooth supply chain. This skill ensures that stock is managed efficiently, demand is met, and delays are minimized, helping to maintain a seamless operation.

  • Relationship Building and Communication

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with store managers, suppliers, and internal teams is vital. Effective communication helps secure the best deals, coordinate purchasing strategies, and ensure smooth collaboration across various stakeholders involved in the purchasing process.
