Job Summary:

The Director of Sales at Black Desert Resort and Red Mountain Resort is responsible for driving sales efforts, developing strategies to maximize revenue, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement with clients. This role is key to expanding the resort’s presence in target markets and ensuring the success of group sales, business travel, wholesale, consortia and travel agent sales and bookings. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, the Director of Sales oversees the Business Travel Sales Manager and Group Sales Managers, establishes revenue goals, and leads initiatives to promote Black Desert Resort as a premier destination.

Job Specification:

  • Onsite: Black Desert Resort/Red Mountain Resort
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time
  • Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000 plus bonus potential (individual compensation decisions are based on experience and qualifications)

Job Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets for room sales, group bookings, corporate travel sales, consortia, wholesale and travel agent partnerships.
  • Oversee the Business Travel Sales Manager and Group Sales Managers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key corporate, group, and leisure clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Revenue Management teams to align sales strategies with promotions, pricing, and inventory control.
  • Prepare and manage the sales budget, including forecasting and analyzing sales revenue.
  • Collaborate with VP of Sales and marketing to prepare and manage reports, ownership and management presentations.
  • Actively participate in sales calls, client meetings, and industry events to represent Black Desert Resort and secure new business.
  • Analyze market trends and competitors to adjust strategies and maximize revenue.
  • Oversee the development of proposals, contracts, and presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, including brand standards, safety, and ethical business practices.
  • Prepare detailed sales reports and present key metrics to executive management.
  • Foster a culture of excellence within the sales department, focusing on guest experience and profitability.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within luxury hospitality.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth, achieving revenue targets, and managing high-performance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of sales strategies, pricing models, and market trends in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with sales and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Opera).
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to represent Black Desert Resort at industry events.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including travel, as required.
